A Hidden Gem
In this project Arch Studio have renovated a traditional Chinese courtyard building called a Siheyuan into a contemporary yet sensitive hidden gem. Named Twisted Courtyard, the residence is adaptable to be used as a hostel or for events. The changes are minimal and clean, which accentuates the rustic charm of the historical elements. I also find the junctions between old and new highly pleasing, obviously great care has been taken to seamlessly slot elements together. Have a look at the project below and let me know what you think.
