La Ciudad De Las Artes Y Las Ciencias
La Ciudad De Las Artes Y Las Ciencias is an educational arts and sciences complex in Valencia, Spain. It will always have a special place in my heart as it was the architecture that first inspired me to get involved in the profession almost eight years ago. Designed by my favourite architect of all time, Santiago Calatrava, his signature skeletal style defines the set of buildings. The geometric, clean aesthetic pops against the bright blue sky and the scale of the gravity defying elements is truly awesome. Whilst I'm happy with how the photoseries has turned out, the scale of the buildings definitely has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. My visit to the complex was the pinnacle of my recent architectural pilgrimage to Valencia, from which there were a number of highlights which I'll write about in an upcoming article. I took the photos on my last afternoon in the city as the sun began to set; it was a perfect way to round off the wonderful trip, that reinforced my belief that Valencia is the best city in Spain.
